VCA was recently an honoree at the Houston SPCA’s annual gala on Friday, April 13, 2018. This years event titled, “Houston SPCA Strong,” was held to honor the heroes of Hurricane Harvey at The Houstonian Hotel. It was these heroes that helped make the lifesaving efforts of the Houston SPCA possible.

The HSPCA thanked VCA and VCA Charities for their heroic efforts in the aftermath of the devastating hurricane. “We honor our Hurricane Harvey Heroes and recognize and honor VCA Animal Hospitals for everything you did for us, the animals, and our community during our time of need. On behalf of the animals who were rescued and reunited – and the thousands that we care for every year – thank you again for your support of our Hurricane Harvey rescue efforts and for your support of our lifesaving mission.”

Michelle Beach Harlow, National Shelter Relations Manager for VCA, invited her fellow South Texas Group team members to the the #HoustonSPCAStrong event to attend as a team – just as they did with all of their hard work for pets and people alike during the difficult Hurricane Harvey aftermath.

Watch the HSPCA video (edited for time) to see the impact that Hurricane Harvey had on local residents, the heart-warming reunions that took place, and how VCA was there to help pets in need.
